What attracted you to working for RLWC2021?

The Rugby League World Cup 2021 is a world-class tournament that demands a high level of inclusivity and innovation at every level of involvement. It is an honour to join a team that is united under its core values to meet this wonderfully inspiring challenge and I look forward to working together as we deliver an unforgettable event.

What is your favourite sporting memory?

While I was at MLS, we put on the inaugural League’s Cup Final 2019 in Las Vegas between Cruz Azul and Tigres UANL of LigaMX. In the weeks prior to the match, rumours were circulating around the country that people were going to storm Area 51 (a highly classified government site just outside of Las Vegas speculated to house extra-terrestrial life) around the match date. As part of our pregame show, we had parachuters with flares attached to their feet drop into the stadium to deliver the match ball. Two of the parachuters were blown slightly off course on the way down, leading to dazzling, yet errant, lights descending on Las Vegas. Local news began reporting that unidentified lights had been confirmed in the greater vicinity of Area 51 and social media took off thinking it was aliens coming to Earth. You can imagine our surprise and delight when we found ourselves trending on Twitter with space invasions.
